05.09.2011 NEW EQUIPMENT – LOWEPRO

September 5th, 2011 by admin in Photography, Travel | No Comments

When shooting grizzly bears I love to use big telephoto lenses. The Nikon 600mm f4.0 is an amazing lens and give me the necessary precision and fast focus speed needed to freeze the action and get those amazing shots.ALK01389Carrying such a huge lens on the field is however not always very practical. Quite often it won’t fit in a “normal backpack” and, as speed is crucial when shooting wildlife, I like to have my camera attached to the lens ready for action at all times.

The ideal solution is the LOWEPRO LENS TREKKER 600 AW II (http://products.lowepro.com/product/Lens-Trekker-600-AW-II,2118,14.htm)

Specifically designed for big telephoto lenses can carry a pro digital SLR with attached a 600mm (and half of the lens hood attached for Nikon) or a 800mm lens.

A second body will comfortably fit in the front pocket and, should you wish to carry a couple of other lenses, additional lens cases fit the side of the backpack.

A practical rain cover will help protect your expensive equipment from dirt and rain and the ergonomic torso harness is perfect to distribute the heavy weight evenly from shoulders to hips.
