I am totally in love with the Svalbard reindeer. How could you not be, with such a cute muzzle?
They’re endemic to Svalbard, and are the smallest of the seven sub-species of reindeer found in the Arctic.
They have adapted well to survive the harsh environment. They’re very sedentary and therefore have low energy demands, especially in winter when food resources are low and they have to rely on their reserves of body fat.
